Tough choice for Americans today

What fundamental choice does America face today? According to Larry Arnn of Hillsdale College, the choice is between a different set of principles and a different sense of political practices that follow. He writes:
“In our Founding set of principles, we are a thing with a nature, the nature is in the middle of the order of creation, and because it is there, we are capable of government and government is required to be limited. Because the same thing that makes us need laws, makes it necessary that those who administer the laws also live under law and restraint.
“The new kind of government is about progress, history, and changes over time. The claim is that we have advanced to a place in science, technology, organization, and knowledge, so that we can actually take control of everything. And that means government needs to be big because in a modern, complex society, so much more needs to be done. The old restraints impede us from being what we can be.”
Will we restore our God-given rights, protected by a limited government, or will we fully implement the Progressives' administrative state that will determine which rights we enjoy under ever changing circumstances?
