Too many support an endless war

To the editor:
I do my best to attend all the local events for presidential candidates, both Republicans and Democrats. I am struck by how enthusiastic the candidates and their crowds are for indiscriminate killing and endless war. From carpet bombing (Republicans) to more plans, more airstrikes, and a ‘broader target set” (Democrats), everyone seems to think if we can just kill more people (losing no American life in the process, of course, since every American life is precious, unlike Muslim lives) then our country will be safe once again.
This differs significantly from the principles of the Libertarian party, which say, ‘The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world.' Echoes of George Washington.
Iowas disenchanted with the ‘kill all of them' war discourse should take a look around and see which political party understands the maxim ‘if I don't throw rocks through my neighbor's window, my neighbor won't be inclined to terrorize me by throwing rocks through mine.'
