Tolerance must go both ways

Diane Crosby's letter (“More clarity needed in state regulations,” March 9) was typical from those who have no real understanding about what the Bible says, as demonstrated by her appeal to shellfish and pork, etc. It was also typical of the prattle from leftists who have a lack of tolerance for those who don't want to sanction and give approval to same-sex fake marriage.

Christians have no problem with serving those who practice

homosexuality. What we have a problem with is being forced to provide services for events that we find objectionable and morally reprehensible.

Should a homosexual baker be required to provide special cakes for a meeting at Westboro Baptist Church? Should a homosexual photographer be required to photograph events at Westboro? Would a homosexual printer want to be forced to print fliers that say “God Hates Fags”? Should a black musician be forced to play for a Ku Klux Klan event? The answer to all of these is “no!” No one should be forced to provide services that involve their participation in an event that they find offensive. No one.

Tolerance is something homosexuals always clamor about but don't seem to ever want to practice. For them, you either give your approval to what they are doing or else you should be punished.
