ToGather Together is a partnership of schools, faith communities, businesses and service organizations in Johnson County providing school supplies for needy children. This fall, ToGather Together was able to provide supplies for more than 3,000 students in Johnson County.
We recognize ToGather Together supporters, including the Consultation of Religious Communities, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the Johnson County Community Partnership to Protect Children, Cargill, Hills Bank, many faith communities and Uncle Tom for their generous donations of supplies and funds.
Dean Oakes donated space for storing and sorting thousands and thousands of supplies. Target and Walmart assisted in purchasing the supplies.
Many volunteers sorted and delivered school supplies. Forevergreen Nursery donated part of its profit for two weeks, and Blank & McCune Realty, ENT Medical Services, MidWestOne Bank, U.S. Bank and the University of Iowa Foundation provided financial support.
Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County and the Iowa City school district were generous with time and efforts. The UI Tippe School of Business and MidWestOne Bank assisted with collections of school supplies.
ToGather Together seeks help for next school year. Contact a co-director to get involved or to make a tax-deductible donation.
