Times are better under Glew
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Whether you've lived in Marion a short time or your whole life, you should vote for Nick Glew as Marion's next mayor. Nick has been on the council for four years - a time that has seen more progress in the city than the previous 10 years. Better streets, less flooding, more bike trails, a splash pad at Thomas Park, and millions of dollars of new private development along the Central Corridor and Tower Terrace Road.
If you have school-aged children or grandchildren, it is essential that you vote for Nick as your next mayor. He has a young family. His wife is a teacher. Nick has the relationships with staff at both Marion Independent and Linn-Mar and has been instrumental in leading the coalition to build the Community Recreation Center, which includes a competition-sized swimming pool.
Unlike his opponent, Nick has lived in Marion for several years. He has been active in the community as a volunteer - Willis Dady Shelter, Rotary Club, and Imagine8, just to name a few. Nick is an Iowan who grew up here, went to college here, and chose to raise his family here. If you've ever wondered about how to keep young Iowans here, let them lead. Vote for Nick to be your next mayor. A vote for Nick Glew is a vote for Marion's future.
