Time to get over Bloom’s article

People of Iowa, get over it. University of Iowa Professor Stephen Bloom's article in “The Atlantic” is a satire, no more, no less. There is no reason to issue a fatwa against the man.
It is well written and, yes, hard-edged. That's what satire is and if it didn't puncture a few balloons of smugness, satire hasn't done its job.
I have lived in Iowa as have my parents and grandparents, and my ancestors as far back as the mid-19th century, so I have the right to say get over it Iowa.
Set about giving young people a reason to stay here and old people a reason to live.
