Time for president to take action
J.R. Johnson

To the editor:
I have not written to The Gazette in several months because every time I wrote in there was a flood of things, like I didn't believe in the Constitution or I was an extremist or worse. Let me be clear, I am an independent - nothing more, nothing less.
The crux of my letter is we have a president who reacts to almost every problem with words and no action.
I really don't care what you think of me and my ideas on a subject that you should be very interested in. The killing of 21 Egyptian Christians, the killing of Americans by beheading has got to stop.
I don't care what you think or the excuses you make for this action, you are wrong. The killing has got to stop. Not by words or meetings, but my action.
I don't care about Obama's legacy, I care about the lives of innocent people being taken. I don't care what you think of Bill O'Reilly, but he made a plea for the clergy of this country to contact the president, by any means, to get a plan and make a stand to stop this slaughter.
Mr. President, take action. Mr. President, stop pussyfooting around the issue, do something. Stop the killing now. Be a leader. Be a president that we can be proud of. Do something. Give my grandchildren a chance. Please.
