Thoughts and prayers for rural students

It's nice that Republican State Rep. Taylor Collins has thoughts about community colleges and students living in rural Iowa.
Too bad he didn't act on it before he and his Republican colleagues in the Legislature ripped down the wall between church and state and passed their private school voucher bill. Now the income limit is gone, and any family can use the giveaway. Soon the cost for that will go over the billion dollar mark. The $1 million dollars they appropriated for the phony “Iowa Center for Intellectual Freedom” may seem like mere pencil dust to them.
But not to worry, with the state's income tax reduced to 3.8% for everyone and the Republican's pledge to “do something” with property taxes (assume that means to greatly reduce them), it shouldn't take too long for Iowa's credit rating to go down the tubes.
They can still offer their “thoughts and prayers” to those rural students, if nothing else!
