Those who shot geese need help, treatment

Late Oct. 30, or early Oct. 31, our two pet domestic geese were shot in our rural Linn County yard. The male was still gasping and flopping when we found him.
If anyone has knowledge of this event, I urge them to contact the county sheriff's department or a county conservation officer. This was not hunting. These were obviously domestic geese used to humans walking up to them.
My daughter is upset about the killing and worried about which of our animals is next - her goats, our cattle or horses? Unfortunately, I can't reassure her they won't be shot.
Violence against animals can escalate to violence against humans. Whoever did this act needs help. Our community is not safe with this coward or cowards walking around shooting living animals randomly.
Please report knowledge of this incident, not for retribution, but so whoever committed this act can get help and become a safe member of our community.
