Thomas blames wrong side for rain forest plan

I am writing in reference to the April 19 Cal Thomas column. Mr. Thomas wrote that since Democrats took over Congress in 2006, they have approved many ridiculous pork projects.
He lists the $50 million for the Iowa rain forest project. While I agree the Iowa rain forest project was ridiculous, I want to point out that a Republican senator, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, was responsible for this piece of Iowa pork in 2004 (the rain forest was never built).
