Things are definitely not looking up

OK, let's see, a few weeks ago The Gazette had a headline that read something like 'Things are looking up” referring to the Wellington Heights neighborhood of the city. The very next day that headline was replaced with news of yet another shooting in the same area. Hello?
In the meantime, another youth who was involved in the serious injury of officer Tim Davis, has been allowed to stay out of prison racking up four parole violations. What is going on here? Put these individuals where they belong.
Now today (April 30) the headline reads 'Gun violence climbs in C.R.” This latest target of the violence has said his solution is to move to another place. OK, so you move your problems somewhere else while not even thinking where you choose to go puts even more people at risk to satisfy your twisted sense of self worth.
I live on the southeast side of town, having bought my house 10 years ago. I have since installed a security system after my neighbor across the street had her house broken into in broad daylight. The $49 a month is well worth it to me.
So, I am one who does not think 'things are looking up.” Crime is here whether we like it or not and is apparently not leaving anytime soon.
