There are no winners in Ferguson

To the editor:
I've been watching what is happening in Ferguson with some distress. When it comes right down to it everyone has lost. The people with the signs saying 'Let's lynch the cop,” are just as wrong as the people saying 'The kid was trouble and deserved it.”
At the same time it's also equally wrong to assume all white cops are good as all black teens are bad. Both sides completely ignore that fact that the individual matters. Just because some people are racist, or criminals, it doesn't mean that everyone like them are the same.
Not one of them was on the grand jury, not one of them witnessed the shooting, neither were the cowards online who made charges and told stories. There are no winners here. Blanket discrimination of any kind is wrong. Free will is not an illusion.
