There are better choices than abortion
The Gazette Opinion Staff

A woman who has control over her own body does not find a need for abortion. On the other hand, a woman who finds a need for abortion has lost control over her own body, and abortion will only delay recovery.
A woman who has an abortion gets trapped between her natural instinct to protect her child, and her certainty that she has no other choice. She faces abortion's immediate risks of pain and injury, and its long-term risks of breast cancer, premature births and emotional problems. No woman needs this kind of control over her own body.
Women need to know that there are better choices than abortion, and that help is available. For example, Birthright helps pregnant women; Project Rachel helps women who have had an abortion; and the Billings Method helps women make reproductive choices without dangerous contraceptive drugs, IUDs, or abortion.
The next step is to provide legal protection for the unborn. No woman can achieve control over her own body without recognizing the right of the unborn to live. This is difficult under a government that pushes abortion.
In the coming elections, please vote for the candidates who will work to protect women and the unborn from abortion.
