Thanks to the Shriners who serve children

One of the best kept secrets is the wonderful work the Shriners' organization does for children. Yes, they are the guys, sometimes in funny red hats, who ride the little cars or dress up like clowns in parades. But, underneath all the funny stuff are men, and their ladies, who have huge hearts of gold. The Shriners sponsor hospitals that treat children with severe conditions, burns and orthopedic problems. And, the Shriners' hospitals treat the children free of charge.
The El Kahir Shrine Center in Cedar Rapids, and its branches in Eastern Iowa, hosted a convention last week. Shriners came from an eight state area to celebrate their reason for being - the children they serve.
