Thanks to team for MDA fundraising

In Millston each year on Labor Day weekend, there is an annual softball tournament and auction benefiting MDA. This year was the 32nd annual. Roughly 12 years ago, a team from Cedar Rapids heard about this tournament and started participating and has been coming back every year. They are lovingly called The Peckerheads. Team captains Chris and Krisstie Speth organize the team.

This team every year before Labor Day weekend raises additional funds for the collective donation to MDA. This is the only team, in this 16-team tournament, that does any fundraising before the tournament. Cedar Rapids should be very proud of The Peckerheads.

This year, with what they brought to the tournament plus what they spent on the auction and other raffles, nearly $1,000 was raised by this team alone. The total donations this year sent to MDA from the tournament was $6,570.

This group from Cedar Rapids is very generous with their time, fun and money helping to make this tournament a success every year, and we in Millston are proud of them as well. Thank you, Cedar Rapids, for raising such a great bunch of people.
