We extend our gratitude to Govs. Jim Pillen of Nebraska and Kim Reynolds of Iowa and Sens. Fischer (R-NE), Ricketts (R-NE), Grassley (R-IA) and Ernst (R-IA) for calling on U.S. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to support America’s soybean farmers and processors by setting strong biofuels policy going into next year.
The governors and senators recognize that a strong Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO) under the Renewable Fuel Standard is one of the most powerful tools the federal government can use to create a strong domestic market for America’s farmers, feedstock providers, and biofuels producers.
I applaud Fischer, Ricketts, Grassley and Ernst for requesting EPA to set the RVO for biomass-based diesel and advanced biofuels to levels that are consistent with current fuel production capacity and feedstock availability. Furthermore, I support Pillen and Reynolds’ request that EPA establish a 2026 RVO of no less than 5.25 billion gallons for biomass-based diesel.
Setting the biomass-based diesel RVO at this level will support opportunities for Bunge’s farmer customers as we continue to connect farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed, and fuel to the world.
