To the editor:
The Coordinating Committee of the Johnson County CROP Hunger Walk thanks the community for making this spring's walk a huge success. More than $23,000 has been donated by our neighbors and friends to support the hunger-fighting efforts here and around the world.
The Johnson County Crisis Center will receive 25 percent of all the funds collected to aid those in need. The funds raised here in Johnson County and in CROP Hunger Walks across the U.S. will make a difference in the lives of people around the world - from supplying clean water to thirsty villages in Kenya, to aiding dairy farmers in Bosnia, to assisting earthquake survivors in Haiti as they rebuild their homes and lives following massive devastation.
Thank you to all who worked hard to make this year's CROP Hunger Walk a resounding success. If you'd like to make a contribution or find out more about Crop Hunger walks, visit our Facebook page or website: www.tinyurl.com/johnsoncountycropwalk. Volunteering, walking, donating - we all have shown that citizens of Johnson County are truly citizens of the world. See you next year at the CROP Hunger Walk on March 20.
