The 1105 Project would like to thank 18 Johnson County restaurants for donating a portion of their proceeds Nov. 5 to our building fund.
The event raised more than $4,000 to help renovate and furnish 1105 S. Gilbert Court for shared use by the Free Lunch Program, Domestic Violence Intervention Project, the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Johnson County and the Crisis Center of Johnson County.
Participating restaurants included Bluebird Diner, Bob's Your Uncle, Devotay, El Bandito's, Hamburg Inn No. 2, Micky's Irish Pub & Grill, both Midtown restaurants, Oasis Falafel, Okoboji Grill, One Twenty Six, Pagliai's Pizza, Sanctuary Pub, Takanami, The Mill and Trumpet Blossom Café in Iowa City, the Bluebird Café in North Liberty and Monica's in Coralville.
With the generous support of these restaurant owners and patrons, and hundreds of other donors, the project has collected nearly $950,000 for the $1.25 million project.
To help us raise the remaining $300,000, the Iowa City Council recently voted to make each new gift to 1105's building fund worth 50 percent more if received by April 14. For each $100 donation, the city will give $50. Learn more online at the1105project.com.
