'Temporary’ Time Check skateboard park shows city’s skewed priorities

Recently The Gazette covered a story on a temporary skateboard park in the Time Check area. I grew up in the 1960s skateboarding. Back at this time, the state of California had already come up with skateboard parks. As a young boy, I only wished we had a place to enjoy, but I had to settle for a steep road or sidewalk.
This article said a permanent park in the Time Check area may be a few years away. Why?
The priorities of this city have always just touched on things in a small-scale manner, almost reaching its full potential to no avail. It's more important to put up a new statue, paint a new mural, build another brewery, et cetera. We should have a skate park in all four quadrants of the city, and that should be in place now!
