Telling camera locations defeats their purpose

Regarding a Jan. 1 letter, “Some fun potential with C.R. traffic cameras,” by Karl Dietz: I have a better idea! Let's put in more cameras. Some live and some fakes, and not tell you speed demons which are on and which are not. Kind of like Russian roulette. What a novel idea.
Giving you people the advantage of knowing which ones to avoid or slow down defeats the whole purpose. Once you get past them, it's “pedal to the metal” time again. The only way you law breakers are going to get the message is by getting into your pockets. I don't know where you ever got the idea that the laws were made for everyone else, but it appears that is what you think.
Laws were made for everyone's safety, not just to make money, like some are saying. Obey the law and get there in one piece, and we will, too.
