Ted Kennedy worked for average Americans

A lot of us were hoping against hope that Ted Kennedy would be able to recover from his cancer. His death is just such a huge loss to our country.
The mountain of legislation Kennedy helped pass made life better for all of us.
Jack, Bobby and Ted Kennedy were born into a family that had great wealth and privilege. They could easily have given in to selfishness and self-indulgence, or spent their lives devoted only to increasing their wealth. Instead they all devoted their lives to their country and to improving the lives of average working men and women.
Ted Kennedy battled for the average American. He believed that to those whom much is given, much is expected.
He came from an era of politics that is almost gone now. Today, politics isn't about people anymore, it's simply about power - how to get it, and how to manipulate the system to keep it. The American people are just a means to an end in all this.
Ted Kennedy was flawed and human, but he worked tirelessly to make a positive difference in the lives of average Americans.
