Tea Party should shun all government help
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Sep. 27, 2009 12:51 am
If the tea party protesters dislike government so much, they should make a personal statement by pledging to eliminate all government intervention in their lives.
That would include fire and emergency services, roads and highways (including rest areas), police, fire and emergency services, air travel (regulated by the FAA), public and state schools, universities and colleges, state and national parks and beaches, public zoos, and municipal garbage and recycling services.
They should refuse to accept unemployment insurance. At retirement, they should tear up their socialist Social Security checks. They should refuse to accept Medicare and pay for health care themselves.
They should refuse treatment at any hospital or clinic that ever received government funding (pretty much all of them) or medical services or medications that were created from any government research funding (again, pretty much all of them). They should refuse to eat any food that was grown with government subsidy and refuse to wear clothing made from crops (i.e. cotton) that was grown with a government subsidy.
Good luck.
