TEA party movement will increase fighting

Regarding Mary Sanchez's Jan. 5 column, “Fighting among ourselves leads away from acceptance”:
Unfortunately, I think the fighting among ourselves is only going to get worse because the angry TEA party movement is gaining strength. It's a bunch of people with who are very scared and have enormous negative energy. They project fear, anxiety and opposition.
The movement, which is in part a front for big corporations, can twist angry people into supporting things that are damaging to themselves. The people chanting in unison at TEA parties against “socialized medicine” have no idea they are crusading for their right to suffer from lack of proper health care. Similarly, they oppose unions because unions subvert their right to earn a lower wage.
They are not just anti-intellectual, they're pro-mythological. They believe in some abstract myth of American individualism.
This anger in a large segment of society is ripe for exploitation by the worst elements of our society. History suggests it will be a march toward authoritarianism, already heavily in the air.
