Taxpayers have been duped again

To the editor:
Well, it seems the newly minted gas tax has barely hit the streets and our state 'leadership” has already spent it. I admit the value of planning, but the taxpayers were sold on the tax because of the dire need for road and bridge repair, not on new roads!
Looks like we taxpayers have yet again been duped by our bait-and-switch government just like the Cedar Rapids LOST, sold as flood mitigation, but used largely to buy flood victims' personal property. The LOST idea was so corrupt, that the measure had to be presented to voters twice, because the voters were 'confused” when it failed to pass the first time around.
We citizens need to hold government officials accountable or we face more corruption forever more.
