Tariffs a response to Chinese threat
Alvin Cummings
Sep. 23, 2018 1:40 am
Most of us make a mistake or two in our lifetimes. Former President Richard Nixon made several in 1969 and the early 1970s in regard to China. He set the stage for the most populated country on earth becoming a superpower.
American farmers are proud of being third, fourth or fifth generation, as they well should be. That is a considerable accomplishment. But if they don't support President Donald Trump in the trade war with China, they may one day be eighth, ninth or tenth generation, farming directly for the Chinese.
There is nothing written in stone that Americans will always be free.
