Take responsibility for your actions

Regarding the Sept. 24 letter 'Success an option for all students”:
All of our eyes would be opened if we could talk to a teacher about their experiences in the classroom.
If parents will not own any of the problems in the 'discipline disparity,” nothing will be solved. When parents teach their children only to be defensive of their actions in the classroom, instead of owning their actions, it will only perpetuate their problems.
Do parents believe that teachers and/or administrators get up every morning and say to themselves, 'I'm going to only discipline or suspend just my black students today?” I can't believe any school personnel would be so unfair.
