Supreme Court decsion a win for individuals
The Gazette Opinion Staff

A recent Supreme Court decision (McDonald v Chicago) reaffirms the right of individual gun ownership. This ruling is in keeping with the Second Amendment to the Constitution and represents a victory for supporters of freedom.
While it is true the initial clause of the Second Amendment refers to state militias, the conclusion is clear and unequivocal: “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” As elsewhere in the Constitution, “the people” refers to individuals.
