Support our country by buying gifts made here
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 1, 2009 7:09 am
Christmas shopping time is here, and we see a lot of advertisements to buy this product or that product. How many of us have really checked to see where these items are made? The United States is in dire need of jobs, yet it seems like all we can purchase are items made in Japan, China, Canada or some other country. How is this country supposed to get back on its feet if we keep importing things from elsewhere?
Instead of worrying about how to fight a war in a foreign land that is taking a lot of our young men's lives, we should be putting more effort into getting more manufacturing done in the United States so that we can have a good old American Christmas by giving American-made gifts.
Contact Washington, D.C., and tell them to start working on something that is important to all of us - more jobs in the U.S.
