Supervisors are ignoring constituents

The Linn County supervisors are in a hurry to talk about their pay raises? Why should there be a speedy process and why can't we have an established meeting after business hours? It's as if the supervisors want to get their raises and not allow the public to participate in the meeting. Most people cannot attend a 9 a.m. meeting. Should this not have more priority and public input?

It appears to me that the board and the supervisors don't have the public's best interest at hand. I suggest that if the raise for the supervisors is met, they had better become more accessible to the public and earn a $20,000 raise. The county changed from 3 to 5 supervisors to lighten the workload and to give a voice to the rural areas of Linn County that felt they were not being heard. I would say the voices of the constituents are still being ignored.

The salary of a supervisor will not keep good people out of the position. What we have now are not the people who should be in office, if this is how they treat the public and ignore the economical future of their county.

Contact every supervisor, regardless of representation. Tell them they should listen to the people who voted them in.
