Strive for liberty and security
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 14, 2013 1:08 pm
Today is the anniversary of what little is left of the Bill of Rights. Prohibit death and taxes; legalize freedom, even though it is dangerous. Prudes, do-gooders, busybodies, whiners, sissies, hypesters, gun controllers, drug warriors and socialists rail at alcohol, tobacco, firearms, gambling, prostitution, narcotics and the governor doing 84 in 65.
If they want a perfectly healthy, perfect safe, perfectly boring utopia at the expense of the next person's liberty, I suggest they amend the Constitution to allow mandatory abortion: no people, no problems. Or strive for liberty and security, such as replacing the governor's death machine with magnetic levitation and personal rapid transit.
