Stranger offered act of kindness

To the editor:
A kind stranger - an angel in disguise - helped me Aug. 28 and I'm very grateful.
When I tried to buy groceries with my debit card at a Marion supermarket, the cashier said the Shazam system was down. I had missed a sign on the door announcing this. The store won't accept checks or credit cards, and I had almost no cash.
Then the woman behind me offered to pay for my groceries if I would write her a check for the amount. She didn't know me, yet trusted that my check wouldn't bounce. She gave me her name, but not her address, and she's not in the phone book, so I can't write a personal thank you.
Her first name, coincidentally, is Angel.
