Stop destroying Paula Deen
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 9, 2013 1:01 pm
Growing up on a farm and watching my mother raise chickens, there always seemed to be one baby chicken that they pecked to death. One peck that brought blood and the rest of the chickens pecked until the chicken died. That is what they are doing to Paula Deen.
Surely she said the evil word 30 years ago, but there isn't a soul alive who hasn't said some word, some phrase or done something that they are not sorry for. The forbidden word is said in many a rapster's song, the gangbangers call each other that word over and over, and it's just their way and no one cares.
Today it is the “in” thing to follow the leader, seeing who can be the next person to take apart someone's life piece by piece until they have broken that person and left them to try and pick up the pieces. It seems to make those who do this act as if they are as pure as the driven snow.
It is time to get off the bandwagon of destroying Deen.
