Stop all the tax cuts and breaks for the rich

Dear Senators and Representatives:
I am appalled that you cannot agree to solve the debt crisis. I listened to John Boehner and President Barack Obama Monday night. We all know how the debt became so large - two wars that were not funded while Congress was giving unheard-of tax breaks to the wealthy and huge corporations, which ran our economy dangerously close to another great depression.
Obama did everything possible to turn it into a recession instead, which we will weather if you people compromise. Why didn't the economy improve the eight years that we had lowered taxes for the rich and corporations?
When my husband and I are paying more federal income taxes than GE, there is definitely something wrong in this country. I paid into Social Security for years to afford my retirement. Now the Republican plan would cut my benefits so that the large multibillion corporations and billionaires can continue to rake in obscene profits. When does it stop?
I want to see the plan Obama outlined enacted now. I want the obscene tax cuts and tax breaks for big oil, big farmers, and big corporations ended now! I want to see everyone in this country doing his/her fair share.
It is time for the Republican party to take another look at itself and get back to its roots. President Ronald Reagan would be appalled to see what you are doing to our country.
