State shouldn’t OK Choose Life

In response to the June 24 letter, “Abortion not the same as aborticide,” by Donna Holman:
For her or anyone to say the (vanity) license plate suggestion is not political is like saying politicians are the fastest bureaucrats in Washington. The big issue at hand is why the state should endorse and force religion onto an individual citizen.
If I'm an atheist, or don't endorse a religion, why should my tax dollars be used to fund government-sponsored propaganda? Also, according to USLegal.com, abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy by various methods, including medical surgery, before the fetus is able to sustain independent life.
The state should refrain from any interaction with the church, as said in the Bill of Rights establishment clause. This was broken in the 1950s when the United States began to implement religious, mostly Christian, rituals into our daily life. This is evident in our Pledge of Allegiance, with the “under God” line. Also, with our currency, “In God We Trust.” This was all an attempt to fight off the evil Soviets.
Back to the point, keep things as is. We do not need a license plate with the slogan “Choose Life.” If you are so dedicated to the cause, find a way that does not involve breaking the rights of citizens.
