State Senate failed on pipelines and eminent domain

We agree 100% with the statements of Rep. Charley Thomson (R-Charles City) and attorney Brian Jorde that our state legislators have done a great disservice to Iowans. It’s inexcusable to know that an overwhelming majority of Iowans (70% is the number we read months ago) are against eminent domain for private gain and yet the topic couldn’t even get brought up in the Senate during the legislative session. That’s a disgrace and constituents realize that it was intentional. We are tired of bowing to King Corn and large animal feeding operations that pollute our water. Iowans are educated, we know that agricultural practices have changed drastically over the years. All corn all the time and CAFOs are destroying the water for all of us. Is it time to clean our state house? Drain the swamp so to speak? We personally will be watching for our legislators to take action on environmental issues between now and all future elections.
