State prison movie choices an eye-opener
The Gazette Opinion Staff

In light of the many massacres occurring in public places by the mentally unstable, a past practice at the Fort Madison state prison is a real eye-opener.
Most Iowa sixth-graders would have advised that the inane practice of allowing horror, erotic, sadistic, ad nauseam, movies to the mentally ill incarcerated is itself an insane practice - similar to pouring gasoline to douse a fire.
If that news report is only half true, those who permitted such practices should have at a minimum been dismissed as soon as correctional officer Kristine Sink's complaints (in 2007) were investigated. May Sink's lawsuit result in such a judgment in her favor that future wardens and those who hire them are in awe.
