I strongly urge voters in House District 66, located in northeast Cedar Rapids, to re-elect Democratic incumbent Art Staed on Nov. 6.
Art has served us well in the Iowa House, working hard on many Iowa priorities. Art has been a consistent and ardent supporter of adequate education funding, mental health services, suicide prevention and improvements to health care, which includes ending the current Medicaid mess. He is opposed to using our tax money to support profit-making managed care companies who increase their bottom line by reducing or denying services to people with disabilities.
As a teacher, Art has worked tirelessly to push back against proposed cuts to education and to health care programs. He has fought tirelessly for affordable and accessible health care coverage for all Iowa residents.
His work as a legislator on numerous House committees has been exemplary. Working effectively and collaboratively, he has championed the needs of Iowa working families and Iowa priorities. We need a courageous, principled and hardworking advocate like Art representing us in Des Moines. Please send him back to the Statehouse.
