Spray-on grass creates a slimy mess

To the editor:
Take a walk with me. I frequently walk down Midway Drive N.W. It has been torn up for several months for storm sewer replacement and repaving. It's finally finished. The parking area has new sod laid down and it looks as good or better than many front lawns.
Now follow me down to West Post Road between Gordon and E Avenue. Parking on both sides of the street were torn up to replace water mains. Upon completion spray-on grass was used. It was used on deep tire tracks, broken tree branches and whatever else happened to be laying there, including the sidewalk in many places. Rain won't grow grass on the sidewalk, but it sure makes a slimy mess to walk on.
What a difference a contractor makes.
