Speak up if you want good health care
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 18, 2009 12:01 am
Health care reforms seems to be the topic of conversation these days and the rumors and scare tactics are running rampant.
Those of us in need of good health care coverage need to speak up in favor of President Obama's plan, including the public option, so that good coverage for all Americans can become a reality. A public option that we can buy based on what we can afford to pay is an excellent choice. I have many family members who have no coverage at all because they work at minimum-pay jobs and simply can't afford the high cost of insurance. They don't want free health care, they want affordable health care.
Those of us who want and need coverage at a reasonable price should contact our Washington representative right away and ask them to support President Obama's plan.
Contact Sen. Tom Harkin at (202) 224-3254, Sen. Chuck Grassley at (202) 224-3744; and First District Congressman Bruce Braley at (202) 225-2911.
