Solar farms provide pesticide-free earnings

The Gazette offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
Research suggests that more than 95% of agriculture pesticides applied miss their target and end up in nearby areas, including homes, schools, and playgrounds.
Herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, anhydrous ammonia, and other chemicals applied are known links to Alzheimer's, cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders in children and other disorders.
I find it hard to believe Iowans would prefer to live next to this for30 years rather than next to a solar farm. Solar farms do not pose a danger to your home or your health.
Solar farms provide farmers with a way to earn up to four times what a corn crop would net without chemicals.
By the way, as published in The Gazette “Iowa has the second-highest cancer incidence rate in the nation and is the only state with a rising rate of cancer.” Maybe this will change if we farm more with solar panels.
