Smoking bans becoming common

To the editor:
I read with great interest the Nov. 13 article 'HUD proposes smoking ban in public housing.”
HUD has proposed a rule that would require 1.2 million public housing units to go smoke-free in all living units and in all outdoor areas near housing units.
This reminded me of a letter I wrote and The Gazette published in 2007, in which I referred to opening a speak-easy for smokers because of proposed smoking bans.
Locally, there has been talk of banning smoking in parks. It looks like my business might pick up. Just call me Nostradamus.
