Slockett led the way in later office hours
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jun. 2, 2012 10:30 am
Many years ago, Tom Slockett extended the Johnson County Auditor's Office hours beyond the traditional courthouse closing time of
4 p.m. Some of the other department heads grumbled, but now most of them also have extended their hours to better serve the public.
It's one of many examples of Slockett's leadership, his commitment to serving the public and his willingness to take the heat from elected officials unhappy with his innovations.
Slockett never forgets who he works for: the people of Johnson County.
