Show respect when anthem is played
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jun. 12, 2013 12:03 pm
On the news Sunday night, when they covered the 12-year-old-girl singing the national anthem, they were showing the Miami Heat players.
Either the players were never informed as how to act when the national anthem is being played or they were showing a gross disrespect for the flag and the anthem. For a difference, note the NASCAR drivers when the anthem is played.
The display by the Miami Heat players is inexcusable. I'm not a basketball fan, but happened to see this on the news. By the way, the 12-year-old was very good.
