Shooter is responsible for gun violence

What should we do about the gun control in the United States?
Many people have different opinions about what should be done with guns. In my opinion, I don't think we need to get rid of guns or ban them. Guns aren't hurting people. People are hurting people.
I'm 18 years old and I have a shotgun. I use my gun for hunting purposes. Some people have a hobby of collecting different types of guns, like automatic guns, others just have guns for hunting.
Recently there's been shootings, but why do we need to ban guns for the large percentage of people who haven't had any problems with them? In Florida, the man who did the mass shootings gave many warnings of how he was going to hurt people. The cops were called on him many times and he mentioned shooting the school.
People need to stop jumping to conclusions by saying it's the gun's fault and that we need to ban guns. People need to stop and look at the whole situation about the shooter. Most of the time, the shooters are mentally or psychologically ill. This country needs to have better background checks because we can't change the Second Amendment. All shootings are bad deals, but it is not the gun's fault, it's always the person pulling the trigger.
