Shame on Ernst for anti-trans message

In a recent email from Sen. Joni Ernst’s office she says, "The Biden administration is unilaterally erasing 50 years of female rights by changing the language of Title IX to allow men to compete in women's sports.”

Sen. Ernst wants you to forget that Republicans took away women’s rights to reproductive health care. This is the Republican messaging strategy: Distract from her own shameful politics by appealing to the worst prejudices of her constituents.

I doubt Sen. Ernst knows any trans people. If she did, she’d have to face up to her part in their persecution. She sees politics as a game to play for her own profit. She can't argue that she cares about anyone’s welfare or rights, except for those of her wealthy patrons.

If I ever meet Sen. Ernst, I would be courteous and polite, but I would have to tell her, “Shame on you! Can’t you be better than this?”
