Sense of humor important for victims

Becoming a flood victim in Cedar Rapids has been quite an experience. I since have moved to Clarence in Cedar County. Small-town Iowa is great. I don't miss Cedar Rapids, where I still work, driving a brown truck at an empty mall in the city's southwest side.
If the Cedar River floods for a third time, maybe I can get a new route in a brown boat like they have in Venice, Italy. Ironically, a mortgage company that got bailout money is after me. When I talked to them during my foreclosure, they requested a police report to prove I was a flood victim. When I told them I wasn't sure where they moved the flooded police station, they laughed.
I am not asking for help; because of my faith, family, girlfriend and co-workers, I will be OK. There are still a lot of people in Cedar Rapids who do need help. I believe President Barack Obama will make a three, unlike the ball four the former President George W. Bush took.
It is important to keep your sense of humor in these times. I hope this newspaper that also got flooded will print this and I hope that Jay Leno will read this out loud on his show.
