Seniors voting against their best interests

Recently, I read that 55 percent of seniors plan to vote for a Republican representative. I am trying to figure out why you are voting for a party that openly states it's their intent to cut Social Security and Medicare, and which is in the process of eliminating protections for Americans who have pre-existing conditions. That will take away health insurance from many of your children and grandchildren.
I really do hope, should this happen, you will not blame the Democrats in Congress for preventing the actions of the people for whom you voted. That, if you forgive me, would be truly insane.
