Senators should protect Warmbier family
William Mulcahey
Mar. 18, 2019 3:00 am
Our president went AWOL on the Otto Warmbier tragedy. A young college student, publicly humiliated on state TV in North Korea, was publicly disowned by our president. How can a North Korean state TV mock trial not have gone unnoticed by that country's dictator, as he claims?
It's time Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst stand up to the lies, feints and dissimulation of President Donald Trump. He is the one who gave a pass to Vladimir Putin when questioned about Putin's involvement in the 2016 election. I hope our senators have the intestinal fortitude to denounce the public humiliation of a U.S. citizen by a crass dictator. Or, the senators should explain how they can countenance this public relations fiasco that wounds a family of an innocent child. Where is their outrage? Where is their empathy?
