Self-serving Dorman needs some perspective

In his column, 'The High Cost Being Paid for Our Meat,” May 31, Todd Dorman laments the high price (in lives) being paid to provide meat to our tables. I too, am saddened by the loss of lives to this virus. Whether it's in packing plants, nursing homes, the uncounted deaths or future deaths from delayed medical procedures, suicides, opioid or alcohol addition or other societal or economic catastrophes.

His 'Holier Than thou” attitude is self-serving. He want's to haul the governor up in front of a biased board and ask a lot of 'gotcha” questions while blaming her for everything COVID-19.

Todd needs some perspective:

Our leaders weren't here for the 1918 pandemic and we have no 'playbook” on how to deal with the virus.

The Chinese Communists obfuscated and lied, starting us way behind in terms of understanding the real threat.

Reynolds doesn't run any industry, including the packing industry. She has to rely on the actual owners.

I do understand that we need to pull together and look for solutions rather than attacking those who are working to alleviate the impact of COVID-19.

Todd will keep doing what he does best, attacking decisions made by others using hindsight not available to leaders who were and are dealing with the issues in real time. I doubt he has the desire or ability to do anything meaningful except foster doubt and frustration.

We need to work together to beat this virus.
