Seeking political advantage over reason
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 15, 2011 11:29 am
I lived in Illinois for many years and learned that for Sen. Dick Durbin, political advantage always takes precedence over reason. So it is no surprise he has taken the lead in politicizing the tragic Arizona shooting.
He never once complained about the eight years of vitriol spewed at President George Bush by his party. He was, in fact, a participant.
People of reason will either ignore him and others voicing similar accusations or follow the same “Let's not jump to conclusions” message of President Barack Obama that followed the massacre of fellow soldiers by a Muslim Army officer at Fort Hood last year.
